Those wacky end of the year deadlines.
I have between 4 and 6 "vitally important" things to finish by the end of the year. At best, I could do 2. Naturally the priority shifts every couple of hours, or as each person who wants somethings "drops by" to plead their case. It is good for my ego, it seems as if the company can’t survive without me. I have learned, however, that nothing actually happens with the software that I’m working between now and the end of the year, so I can sit back and enjoy the panic. Well, I wish I could, but being pulled in so many directions get me nice and angry for the holidays. At least I’m now smart enough to know that it’s worthless to kill myself trying to get these things done. Nobody really cares, which feeds the anger nicely.
Nothing like sticking to the barely existent development plan. I guess nobody really learns anything here.
